Had to have my root canal (at least 30 yrs old) redone as it started getting infected. I absolutely love going to the dentist for a cleaning but I dread going for root canals. Dr. Michelle Roh couldn’t have been more accommodating and very gentle when she had to remove what I had, pack it with meds then at my return visit redo the root canal. I was very surprised how painless it was and how quickly she had both procedures completed! I hope I never have to have this done again, but seriously, thank you Dr. Roh for a surprisingly seamless procedure!

Excellent experience! I cannot recommend Dr. Vimal Chheda and the team at Austin Microendodontics enough. I have had many root canals in the past, but this was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Chheda is incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and clearly knows exactly what he is doing. The entire process was completely pain-free and the easiest root canal I’ve ever been through. To top it off, this was the first time I didn’t even need to return to my general dentist to finish the filling—everything was completed right there. The staff is wonderfully attentive, and their billing department is top-notch. They are so organized that they proactively adjusted my account and refunded an overpayment before I even had to call and ask about it. Professional, honest, and highly skilled. Thank you, Dr. Chheda and team!

Dr. Hom and his crew are fabulous! If you have deep seated fears about having a root canal or any type of special dental work done, this is the office to go to. The office staff were exceptionally helpful, and the technicians were great as well. They explained the process each step of the way and made sure my husband was not experiencing any discomfort. He is in his 70s and it was the easiest root canal yet. Thank you Dr. Hom, Kat, Rachel and the whole team for your excellent care!

Had a great experience for my first root canal with Dr. Hom and his assistant, Lucia! He was very thorough and took his time running tests to figure out what was going on, as it wasn’t clear which tooth was causing trouble. I didn’t feel pressured or rushed whatsoever, but felt informed which is incredibly important to me with this kind of procedure. Lucia was amazing making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Thank you for making this a positive experience!

I had an initial consultation scheduled here and was surprised to learn that a $254 CBCT (3D scan) is required for all patients before any evaluation. This stood out because I hadn’t even met with the dentist yet or had my case assessed. Being told an advanced scan is mandatory upfront felt unusual, so I did some research and spoke with other endodontists. To be fair, CBCT scans can absolutely provide more detailed imaging and may improve outcomes in certain complex cases. That’s not really in question. The issue is that they’re typically used selectively when clinically necessary, not required across the board for every patient. That’s also consistent with the fact that many insurance plans don’t cover them unless there’s a clear need. When I raised this concern, I was told it’s a standard requirement at this practice regardless of the situation. That approach didn’t sit right with me. Requiring a $250+ out-of-pocket scan before determining whether it’s actually needed feels excessive and not aligned with how most practices operate. Better technology doesn’t automatically mean it’s appropriate in every case, especially when the necessity hasn’t been established yet. Because o
